Poor sick boy!

Sawyer has the runniest nose I have ever seen and we ran out of kleenex.  Toilet paper isn't cutting it and is only making his nose raw.  I wish he would learn how to blow his nose!  He is also getting his 2 bottom molars in.  Needless to say, he is a little, miserable baby.  We have used nasal rinses and I feed him teething tablets like they are candy, does anyone have any other good advice?

We're adding 1 more to our family!

Just after Christmas I was beginning to wonder if I might be pregnant.  No monthly visit, naseated most the day, none of the Christmas candy sounded good, upset stomach, etc.  I took a test on Jan. 4th and it was positive.  We waited to make an doctor appt. because I had a miscarriage the end of July at 7 weeks so we didn't want to get ahead of ourselves.  I am RH- so if I do have a miscarriage I have to have a rhogam shot to prevent problems in the future.  We did that in July and I just hoped that I hadn't had any other miscarriages I wasn't aware of previous to that.  Anyhow, we had our appt. with the OB last Wednesday and they said everything looks great (except my thyroid-they have to up my medication).  They did the confirmation ultrasound and we got to see the heart beat and what kind of looked like an mini baby.  The due date is August 27th and I am 10 weeks tomorrow.

We didn't plan on having Sawyer and I was kind of bummed because I wanted to be excited and ready when we got pregnant again.  I understand the biology of it all, and I am plenty smart enough to know how to prevent it, but I guess after this one I will need to do a better job of it. ;)  I think the part that is hardest for me is the unknown of pregnancy.  I know that I need to turn it over to the Lord, but I still struggle.  All things happen for  a reason and I know that I will be better for it.  Blessings come in all shapes and sizes.  Right?

Christmas 2009

I am having the hardest time undecorating our home and not listening to Christmas music this year.  What is wrong with me?  I suppose listening to all the fun and uplifting melodies for a whole month really sunk in.  Anyhow, things got so busy and I got behind, so blogging went to the wayside (As well as cleaning and sending Christmas cards, sorry to my husband and the rest of you.)

We finally decorated our tree and then my batteries died in my camera, so I took this photo on Christmas Eve Eve. Lights on and lights off!

Above left: Presents from Santa. (Wrapped despite Tony's fervent plea that Santa doesn't wrap gifts.)  Above right: Sawyer/Tony's new remote control car.

On Christmas Eve we traveled home to see my family.  My good intentions to leave at a decent time were foiled by my lack of "time management" as Tony likes to call it.  We ended up getting to my mom's at 11 p.m. due to a stop to see my dad and great grandma on the way.  Sawyer was wide awake and we had to fight him to sleep by about 2 or 3 a.m. (miserable!)  Kade woke us up bright and early Christmas day and the fun began.  After/during opening gifts we watched the Disney Christmas parade.  Sawyer got some cute Woody slippers from his Uncle Kade.

One of his favorite gifts was a Buzz Lightyear toy.

In the evening we made a quick trip to see my dad in Hansen.  And were home before 10 p.m., but had another late evening to bed.

Saturday we went to my grandparent's for my mom's side of Christmas celebrating.  On our way out the door, Sawyer smashed his face into my mom's night stand and gashed open his lip and gums.  Now his gum line is higher on the leftside, but he seems to have healed ok.

It was wonderful to spend time with my family this year, but I do enjoy alternating years so we only have to pack up all the Christmas hoopla every other year (sigh of relief!).  I hope you all had a wonderful holiday season and a Happy New Year.
