Father's Day Weekend

We celebrated Father’s Day on Saturday this year, because I had to work all day on Sunday.  Tony wanted to go for a bike ride, but the doctor said I shouldn't be riding due to a possible lack of balance :( -- so Tony took Sawyer for a bike ride in the trailer.  I met Tony and Sawyer at Tautphus Park where there was a car show going on.  We enjoyed walking around and looking at the various classic cars.  I packed us a lunch and we found a shady spot on the grass to eat.  Sawyer wanted his shoes off while he ate his PB&J (as seen above).  I love picnic lunches!  I hope Tony enjoyed it too. 

I love this smiley boy!  He was getting ready to play with bubbles.He loves to chase them and pop them.  Tony was trying to teach him how to blow them.  He can blow 1 or 2 pretty well.

Disney World 2010: Day 1

(Note to all:  This post is more for scrap booking purposes than sharing with others.  I don't see the scrap book for this adventure being complete any time in the near future, but I need to keep track of it somewhere, and my blog is the best place I can think of.  Feel free to browse through the photos, but don't feel obligated to read the details! :))

Thursday, May 6th, 2010- Our first morning at DisneyWorld was spent eating breakfast as the Cape May Cafe at Disney's Beach Club Resort.  We rode a bus from our hotel and arrived just in time for me to use the restroom (I'm pretty sure I saw all the restrooms in DisneyWorld this vacation).  They took us in a few minutes early for our reservation which made us all happy (we were hungry).  Sawyer loved to see Minnie, Goofy, and Donald.  I was bummed to not see Mickey, but he must have been sailing for the day or something fun.  The breakfast buffet was phenomenal and they had the most delicious orange juice (probably because we were in Florida-ya think?)  There were Mickey shaped waffles, and every other breakfast food we could have dreamed of.  I ate too much and Sawyer ate too little due to his excitement each time the characters came around.  Donald even helped him when he lost a shoe.  It was a great way to start out our vacation.  After breakfast, we beat the lines and entered Epcot the back way from the Beach Club Resort (it was awesome).  

 

Once inside Epcot we wandered around and inside Innoventions Sawyer found a life-size fire truck to play with and admire.  He loved it!  This time of year is the Flower and Garden Festival at Epcot, so they have wonderful topiaries all throughout the park (as seen above).

Our afternoon meal was at The Coral Reef Restaurant.  We were able to sit right next to the aquarium and enjoy the fish, sharks, and sting rays as we ate.  This of course was in between Sawyer's grumpiness.  He was ready for a nap and eating out wasn't very conducive to napping.  We still enjoyed amazing mahi-mahi and delectable desserts (I had a molten chocolate cake and Tony and Sawyer shared a layered chocolate mouse.  Stuffed again, we were on our way to enjoy the rest of the park. 

They painted the pink monorail for the new release of Tron later this year.  It was fun trying to get photos of the "Tronorail". Tony met up with his friend Tyson to ride Mission Space, but before his ride, he and Sawyer dressed in their "space suits".    Later Sawyer found a fun water fountain.  At first he observed, tried to wait for the fountains to spurt  water out, and after about 10 minutes he was laughing, running from fountain to fountain soaking wet.

28 weeks

(28 1/2 weeks)

We are still here and the time keeps flying by.  I feel like I am moving in slow motion (maybe I really am, with a slight waddle).  I have all these wonderful aspirations and yet I only get the same things done every day (dishes, laundry, get myself ready, rake the yard, make dinner, taking care of Sawyer, etc).  I did rearrange our living room last week and it looks more open now and last weekend we put an indoor shutter in our bathroom window (we didn't have anything in it before and I am sure the neighbors are thanking us now).  We (mainly Tony) dug up the sod by our driveway and barked (is that a real word?) the whole triangle.  I also planted a couple flowers in our big pot by our front door.  I keep begging to mow the lawn, but Tony seems to feel guilty about me doing it, so he does it every week. I'm sure I should appreciate it, but I love to mow the lawn.

Anyhow, I had my 28 week appointment on Tuesday.  I got to enjoy the yummy lemon-lime drink and have my finger poked .  Everything is looking great!  I have blood pressure Tony only dreams of, the baby's heart rate sounds great, both my iron and blood sugar came back normal, and I got to have my Rhogam shot.(With Sawyer, I don't remember it being so achy afterwords, but that could be because I have a cold right now.)  I feel slightly guilty because whenever the doctor asks if I have any questions, I don't really have any.  I remember have a quiz prepared at each appointment with Sawyer.  I hope it is because I am so knowledgeable and not lackadaisical. :)  When I scheduled my next appointment the receptionist said, "See you in two weeks."  I can't believe it is already to two week visits.  There goes my time again. 

Sawyer is as busy as ever and almost 21 months old.  He likes to run up and down the open area in our kitchen.  He loves "side" (outside) and "colors" (coloring).  My magic eraser is getting plenty of use when Sawyer's amazing artistic abilities are put to use on the coffee table and other various places in our house. Tony got him a battery powered lawn tractor with a trailer or an early birthday present as I like to call it.  He LOVES to drive it around the yard.  I was amazed he could understand how to make it go.  He is still working on the steering part though. My goal for this month is to see if I can get Sawyer to sit through story time at the library.  We have never gone, but I thought maybe it would fun for him.  I will post a photo of him driving his tractor soon.
